• About the company
PanTV is a multicultural multimedia production company which operates an innovative online Canadian-Brazilian integration portal at www.pantv.ca promoting the mutual understanding between Canadians and Brazilians by focusing on the production of online shows covering aspects of daily life on both countries.
In addition to the production of video content, PanTV's portal hosts several blogs and photo galleries periodically updated with new topics and issues regarding Canada, Brazil, and their people.
• Mission
Our mission is to break the barriers of integration between Canadians and Brazilians through a bilingual online channel that informs and entertains.
• Values
PanTV was conceived with the belief that understanding is key for integration between different cultures. In order to provide that to our viewers, we work with integrity and respect for cultural differences, with the belief that understanding similarities and contrasts of one another can only lead to introspective discovery and mutual understanding.
• History
PanTV was founded in February of 2008 by three ambitious Brazilian immigrants in Canada. Media professionals Felipe Scarpelli, Sandro Liberato, and Sandro Miranda felt the need for better understanding and integration between Brazilians and Canadians.
After arriving as immigrants, the three felt a lack of effective support, union between the Brazilian communities in Canada, and leadership and organization among Brazilians abroad.
Moreover, even with Canadian government programs aimed at newcomers, many Brazilians find very difficult to integrate into the Canadian society. Consequently, many newcomers take refuge and hide themselves from society in enclaves inhabited by other Brazilians. There, they find support, companionship, understanding, and even local media in their native language.
That is where PanTV comes in. Most publications focused on immigrants are directed to their own communities, highlighting only their places, people and events, thus contributing to the segregation of immigrants in the Canadian society.
After one year online, PanTV's website visits grew exponentially. This success allowed PanTV to establish itself as an enjoyable, interesting, and relevant reference for people living or interested in Canada or Brazil.
The project was remodeled in early 2009 aimed to become not only a conceptual project, but a highly professional company. The new portal contains more dynamic content, programs, blogs, photo galleries and interactive areas for users, in addition to new equipment, partnerships and professionals ready to work on PanTV from 2009 and help PanTV become a reference for the integration and understanding between different cultures.
